Pereira D'Oliveira: Luis Oliveira, the proprietor of this iconic vineyard, possesses a remarkable treasure trove of vintage wines. This vast collection stems from the decision to venture into exports only in the 1970s. Prior to that, the wines were exclusively sold on the island, ensuring that annual production always matched sales. Even now, D'Oliveira collaborates with only a select few importers globally, safeguarding his esteemed collection of historical wines, the eldest of which harkens back to 1850 and is simply delectable.
The wines of D'Oliveira exude a classic charm, characterized by pronounced oxidation and mature flavors. Yet, due to most of them being bottled recently, they present a harmonious blend of sugared notes and oxidative components, all seamlessly melded with the right amount of alcohol. 94 points
