🌟 Fame and Acclaim: Coca Buton swiftly gained renown for its reputed properties, believed to enhance strength, rejuvenate the mind, stimulate appetite, and aid digestion. These claims were supported by the esteemed doctor and anthropologist Paolo Mantegazza, who hailed Coca Buton as "the pride of Italian liqueurs".
The Artisanal Process: Crafting Coca Buton
1️⃣ Maceration: The process begins with the coca leaves, sourced from Peru and known for their high quality. They are macerated in a high-alcohol solution, setting the stage for distillation in a traditional 1,000-litre alembic still.
2️⃣ Distillation: The essence of the coca leaves is captured, meticulously excluding the cocaine molecule. Only the heart of the distillate, rich in aromatic qualities, is retained. Post-distillation, the residual leaves are incinerated under strict supervision.
3️⃣ Blending: The final step is blending this exquisite distillate with other individually macerated and distilled aromatic herbs, culminating in the iconic Coca Buton.
