About Rue Pinard

Rue Pinard connects collectors, restaurants, and trade professionals to the world’s largest fine wine and spirits marketplace. As a Liv-ex member, we operate within a global network of 620+ merchants, trading across 20,000+ wines and spirits with a live market of over £100 million in opportunities at any time.

We combine this market access with personal service: trusted provenance, secure logistics, and tailored advice. From iconic allocations to mature vintages, Rue Pinard makes the international market directly accessible.

How It Works

We don’t sell wine like a retailer. We build portfolios bottle by bottle, guided by data, expertise, and a long-term horizon.

  1. Access Global Markets

We open the doors to Liv-ex and other trusted platforms, giving you institutional-level access to pricing, liquidity, and opportunities normally reserved for trade insiders.

  2. Curated Portfolio Building

Each acquisition follows a strict checklist: provenance, critic scores, liquidity, fair value, and producer history.

    • Anchors: Lafite, DRC, Cristal.
    • Growth Drivers: climate-resilient Tuscan, Spanish, and Champagne legends.
    • Satellites: cult Napa, emerging regions, biodynamic pioneers.
  3. Transparent Execution

We advise an execution level below retail yet realistic. Our margin is a small brokerage spread when trades succeed. You see benchmarks, execution, and the exact build of your portfolio.

  4. Secure Storage & Insurance

All bottles are held in bonded warehouses under ideal conditions, fully insured, with legal ownership in your name. Logistics into the UK, US, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan are seamless.

  5. Real-Time Portfolio Dashboard

    • Live valuations benchmarked to Liv-ex and global indices
    • Liquidity signals and trade depth
    • Breakdown by region, style, and risk tier
    • Performance history over time
  6. Long-Term Strategy

We recommend a 3–5 year horizon. From En Primeur to reappraisals and early drinking windows, this timeline smooths tariffs and regulatory shifts while enhancing scarcity value.

  7. Experience Beyond Numbers

Clients enjoy privileged access to tastings, dinners, and rare allocations that bring portfolios to life.

Bonded Storage Advantage

Through Liv-ex, Rue Pinard offers full bonded storage: wines held under optimal conditions, tax and duty unpaid, in trusted warehouses. This preserves provenance, protects value, and enables seamless international trading. Collectors gain liquidity, restaurants secure continuity of supply, and buyers enjoy confidence in authenticity and storage. Bonded storage keeps fine wine global, tradable, and in perfect condition until it is needed.

Our Values

  • Authenticity — Every bottle is chosen for provenance, craftsmanship, and character.
  • Care & Preservation — Precise control of temperature, light, handling, and documentation.
  • Personal Contact — No faceless platform. You work directly with us.
  • Flexibility — Freedom to drink, collect, or sell. No lock-ins.
  • Bonded Storage — Security and freedom in one: optimal conditions, tax advantages, global access.

Our History

Rue Pinard began in 2012, sparked by Bart Laming’s early fascination with rare spirits after an unforgettable first sip of Cognac in the Hennessy cellars in 1985. His path — from Armagnac to Burgundy to Macallan unicorns — met its counterpart in Hakan Karaca, strategist, whisky connoisseur, and logistics specialist. Together, they grew Rue Pinard from boutique to global destination where passion meets precision.

  • 2012 — Concept launched; ~5,000 bottles under management (USD 5–10M). Harrods London: Courvoisier tasting with the world’s oldest Courvoisier.
  • 2013 — First international clients in Asia and the U.S.; 10,000+ bottles under management (USD 10–20M).
  • 2015 — Midnight delivery of an 1811 Cognac to a Las Vegas casino.
  • 2017 — U.S. entity in Miami; Christie’s President’s Collection auction; Brandy Library Cognac event in NYC.
  • 2018 — “Should You Drink Old Liquor?” at Columbia Room, Washington D.C. (1811–1928 vintages).

  • 2021 — Hong Kong Cognac tasting with Acker Auctions.
